What a joyous little city this is.  Also not a bad place to get a Ph.D. - even if you are only 26 years old.  Holy crap Meredith....I'm still blown away at your accomplishments.  I can't wait until you're famous and then I can tell people I know you.

For several months, I've been cheating on my digital cameras in a Tiger Woods-like fashion.  And it feels good.  Really good.

Thanks to a few good friends, Ryan and Jonathan, my love for film the past 6 months has grown like a chia-pet on crack-flavored Miracle Grow - or Ryan's hair - they're synonymous.

There's something special about film.  It's different.  It forces you to work for each shot and if you don't love it, you don't take it.  Exposure is no longer a shoot - then chimp back of camera to see if it looks good.  Composure doesn't involve shooting wide, then later cropping in post-processing.  Capturing the moment isn't being trigger happy at 6fps and mowing down your subjects with a myriad of digital captures.  It's anticipation at its finest.  You anticipate the moment you want to capture, then drop the shutter at the right time.  And it feels good.  Especially at $1 a frame :)

Now let me set the record straight, in no way am I hating on digital.  Hell, my freaking brand is created around 'Digital' - talk about brand FAIL....FML.  Oh well :)  This also doesn't mean I'll be dropping the digitals anytime soon, just sayin' I'm loving my new friend - Senor Film - and I feel like he's making me a better photographer - be it on a digital or film camera.  They each have they're pros and cons.  To each their own.  Y tu Brute?

I'll be posting some recent personal work this week.  Have questions?  Drop a comment and I'll respond.

Shot on Kodak BW400CN and a Canon EOS-3 body, 50mm 1.2L lens.  Suck it Trebek.
