the digital orange photo blog I like to think of myself as a tuxedo t-shirt because I want to be formal, but really I'm here to party.

I'm Mike Cunningham and this is my photo blog.

I have a good friend.  His name is Tyler.  He is the Jedi force behind ocRAMPS.com.  He threw a killer party at their warehouse in Santa Ana and invited me to come out and shoot the event.  We had the Kogi truck out back, a bunch of bands, and plenty of Rockstars to keep the event pumping til the wee hours of the morning.

Fun fact - I got my first film camera back in high school so I could shoot me and my friends skateboarding and snowboarding.  I love shooting people and weddings, but the alternative sports are what got me started and I love it.

Do your kids, siblings, grandkids have a passion for an alternative sport?  You should probably hire me to shoot them.  I guarantee it will be the best gift they've ever received.  HINT - great Christmas gift idea for all you surfers, skaters, snowboarders, wakeboarders, BMX'ers and MotoX'ers.

3 shoots in 2 days.  It was an awesome weekend.

I started things off Friday night shooting for ocRAMPS.com at their warehouse in Santa Ana.  The skating was insane and you're not going to believe the hammers these guys were throwing down.  And yes, he landed it.  Several times.

Friday night was super fun, but the couple I met Saturday morning in Rancho Palos Verdes for an engagement session really stole the show.  They are two of THE raddest people ever and I'm overwhelmed with excitement to shoot their wedding in North Lake Tahoe this summer.  Here's a sneak peek at my new friends Megan and Dave:

After I finished the eSession, it was off to Terranea Resort to shoot the corporate retreat of Knobbe Martens, the Kings of Intellectual Property Law and all other important things intangibly protectable.  It was an amazing indoor/outdoor production that was nothing short of top-notch.

Basically what I'm trying to say is.....it's going to be a good week on the blog.  Come back and visit.

Just got back from a great weekend trip to Las Vegas.  I had a great time spending time with the Treese fam and even put together a late night photo shoot on the mini-ramp.

Cody and Casey's parents have a mini-ramp in the backyard (shout out to Papa Steve) that overlooks the Las Vegas Strip.  It's an awesome backyard and a great place to spend the evening.  Cody and Casey threw down on the mini til their grown man tiredness kicked in, Eric came and filmed the happenings, and I was rockin' the still shots.  We jammed til the weee hours of the morning.  Made me feel like a kid again.  Sigh.

Our buddy Eric Cannon threw down with the videography.  The lighting sucked for video and he still managed to put together a killer short video.  Be sure and stop on over to his BLOG and check out the video he made.  You might even see me airing out of a pool :)

I can't wait to go back and do it again.  VIVA LAS VEGAS!

The fellas over at ocRAMPS.com contacted me about doing a few shots for their updated brochure and website.  They build skateboard ramps and ship them all over the world and are the masterminds behind Skate Paint.

This particular ramp is their new 16ft wide half pipe that will soon be their biggest ramp offered.  Although they built this ramp a while back as a demo, it's still super pimp and a dream to ride.

I'd love to do more action shots this summer.  If you know anyone who kills it on a skateboard, surfboard, snowboard, or Heely's, have them send me an email.  Peace.
